School Dinners

WE ARE A NUT AND SEED FREE SCHOOL.  PLEASE ENSURE YOU DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD TO SCHOOL WITH ANY FOOD CONTAINING THESE ITEMS.

At Newbold Verdon Primary School we offer nutritious, tasty lunches which are prepared off-site by School Food Support.  Religious, cultural and medical dietary needs are met by prior arrangement.

In August 2014, the government introduced Universal Infant Free School Meals. All children in the Foundation stage, Years 1 & 2, are currently entitled to a free school meal. Having a home cooked meal in the middle of the school day is very important; it can benefit a child in many ways both at home and at school.

Packed lunches and dinners are served in the same hall and children are able to sit with their friends whilst eating their dinner.  On occasions, particularly during the summer, we encourage the children to eat picnic-style on blankets on the school field.

During special occasions alternative themed lunches may be provided to engage and enthuse children's eating habits.

We appreciate that eating and food can be an area of anxiety for many children; please talk to us if you have concerns about your child's food choices or eating habits so that we can best meet their needs.
