Newbold Verdon is a well
established co-educational Community Primary School situated
at the heart of the village and proud of its links with the
local community and the work of the Community Centre.
The catchment
area is the village of Newbold Verdon, although some of our
pupils do come from farther a field.
Within our school there is an autism unit which currently caters for 10 children with severe autism, rising to 15 children in Autumn 08. We are an inclusive school, unique in Leicestershire, and therefore it is important to note that these children, legally, have to be included in the National Data for Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 SAT’s results, league tables and Ofsted reports. This may, on occasions, mean that the reported results do not realistically reflect the standards achieved by pupils within the mainstream school.

Newbold Verdon Community Primary School will
strive to improve the quality of education and raise standards through
high expectations.
This will be achieved in partnership
with pupils, staff, parents, governors and the community. The National
Curriculum plus RE will be delivered in a challenging, stimulating
environment which produces well informed, motivated and adaptable
children who have a life long desire for knowledge and skills.
Through an atmosphere of co-operation,
enjoyment, fairness and honesty, the spiritual, moral, social and
cultural development of each child will be enhanced.
Within the inclusive setting we offer, we
want the very best for our children. To do this we review progress
and performance and challenge ourselves to improve so our aims
are:
|
Ensure an environment that
is safe, caring, trusting, friendly, stimulating, challenging
and conducive to learning. |
|
Promote children's self esteem and confidence
by developing awareness of self and sensitivity to others. |
|
To raise standards of attainment. |
