What Our Children Think of The School

I like this school because the staff are nice to you and at playtime there are a variety of things to do such as playing football on a real pitch with proper goals.

Our school is a bright and colourful place with plenty of opportunities to do extra things such as tutoring, netball and using the ICT suite at lunch time.

I like the school because I get the opportunity to help in all sorts of ways.

The teachers are helpful but fun.

It's a great place to make new friends.

The Children are actively involved in school life through the School Council

The children are actively involved in the school through the School Council by bringing forward ideas that will help to improve the school for everyone's benefit.

A boy and girl from each class are elected and they produce an agenda for discussion at each meeting. A report is written and circulated to all and initiatives agreed are then acted upon as soon as possible.

SPORT AND EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

Sport and other extra-curricular activities are an important part of life at our School. Extracurricular activities are offered to all children throughout their time at the school.

Although children take part in the activities for fun and enjoyment, we feel they play an important part in the education of the child. Commitment, perseverance and working as a team are all important life skills.

The school offers a variety of after school clubs of which a few are listed below:

Football
Tag-Rugby
Dance
Netball
Rounders
Art
Cricket
Athletics
Homework Club
Choir
Recorders
Boosters

The school is an affiliated member of the Hinckley and District Leicestershire Primary School's Sports Association.

he school competes in district competitions having representative teams in football, tag-rugby, athletics and swimming.

We are lucky to have a field and playground together with an indoor hall, which are used throughout the school day and for after school clubs. Each year we host a football competition: The Benny Clinton Memorial Cup.

The Children also have the opportunity to participate in Residentials at year 2, year 3/4 and year 5/6. The year 2 residential is an overnight, 2 day visit to Beaumanor Hall, run by Leicestershire County Council qualified staff.

The year 3/4 participate in 2 night, 3 day residential usually based on science, geography and historical activities.

Finally the year 5/6 residential is an outdoor-pursuit adventure activity based at licensed sites around the country.
